Adam was off to a strong start for the Tigers, posting a .282 average with 33 hits and 11 RBI. Ching's injury came just two games into the Big West season, when Adam appeared to be on the brink of heating up. In those two contests, Ching was 6-for-7 with seven runs scored and two RBI. Earlier in the season, Adam provided his most dramatic effort with a walk-off three-run home run to lift Pacific to a 7-6 win over Nevada on Feb. 18. <p><b>2006 (Sophomore):</b><p>Adam was one of only two Tigers to start every game for Pacific in 2006. Ching ended the season with a .308 batting average, a team-high 69 hits, 40 runs scored, 15 doubles and delivered 23 RBI. Ching was a fixture at the top of the lineup for the Tigers, hitting in the leadoff position in 49 of the Tigers' 55 games. Adam led the Tigers with five three-hit games during the season and also delivered 14 games with two hits. Adam's most productive game of the season came on Mar. 26 as he drove in three runs on two hits and scored two runs, helping the Tigers complete a three-game sweep of San Diego State with a 10-4 victory. <p><b>2005 (Freshman):</b><p> A midseason insertion into the starting lineup, Adam proved to be the spark at the top of the order the Tigers needed. Ching led off 21 times for the Tigers in 2005, finishing the season with a .281 average, 29 runs scored and 21 RBI. Ching was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Pacific's 13-6 win over Cal State Northridge on May 13. Adam had his best game on Apr. 5, going 4-for-5 in the Tigers' 11-5 win over Hawai'i-Hilo. Ching's first home run as a Tiger was a three-run blast off UCSB closer Alex McRobbie in the ninth inning of Pacific's 6-1 win over the Gauchos on Apr. 3. Ching broke into the starting lineup on Mar. 29, as he was 3-for-4 with a run scored in Pacific's 2-0, 10 inning,win over Stanford.<p><b>High School:</b><p> Ching graduated from Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo, Calif. in 2004. A dual threat for the Mustangs, Ching played infield and pitched in his senior season. At the plate, Ching posted a .350 batting average and three home runs. Adam also proved to be a dangerous weapon on the base paths, stealing 13 bags in 2004. On the mound, Ching finished the season with a 3.20 ERA. Adam's most memorable moment came against Tustin HS as he connected on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Following the 2004 season, Ching was named the Mustangs' team MVP and to the All-SCL (South Coast League) Second Team.<p><b>Personal:</b><p> Adam Ching is the son of Doug and Ann Ching. Adam has one brother, Tyler (18). In his fourth year at Pacific, Adam is a sport management major.<p>
